History of BIET Kuanrmunda

The institute was established by Government of Odisha in 1958 and was named as ELEMENTARY TRAINING SCHOOL. It was named Elementary Training School because the student were trained in true spirit of basic education propounded by Mahatma Gandhi. Then In the year 1973 it was renamed as GOVT. SECONDARY TRAINING SCHOOL where student pursue their Teacher Certificate (CT) and was again renamed as BLOCK INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION & TRAINING (BIET). KUARMUNDA, SUNDARGARH in 2014 where student pursue D.El.Ed Courses. As per Govt. only SC/ST students of Sundargarh district are eligible to take admission in our institution. This institution is affiliated by NCTE, New Delhi. The academic and administrative control of the institute is under Director TE & SCERT, Odisha, Bhubaneswar. The pupil teachers of this institution get diploma certificate from Board of Secondary Education, Odisha Cuttack. Now the Institute is running with D.El.Ed intake capacity of 100 seats Capacity subjected to approval of NCTE from time to time.

The vision of this course is to prepare teacher for the roles of being an;

Mission

  • Preparation of teachers for school education who are trained to develop 21st century skills of critical thinking and creativity among learners.
  • Preparation of teachers for school education with sound understanding of ICT tools and its usage to make classroom teaching more interesting and interacting

  • Providing timely and relevant training for in-service teachers with the prime purpose of up skilling their teaching techniques as well as informing and training them in latest innovations in curricular and pedagogic practices.
  • Providing necessary assistance and advice to the state on issues related to curriculum development, its revision and proper implementation.
  • Monitoring and evaluating various centrally and state sponsored schemes related to school education.
  • To transform the culture of classroom practices and assessment by adopting innovative pedagogy as recommended in NEP-2020
